Seniors V Hurstville ZFC

18s: 7-0 win

What a difference a week makes. After last week's unfortunate 2-1 loss to Western Condors, the 18's were looking to redeem themselves with a better performance. We commend the way in which the boy's conducted themselves after the loss, coming into this game positively after a good week at training. The team displayed a high level of intensity both with and without the ball and were able to produce some good attacking football on a fantastic Pluim Park surface. Coach Alex Powell said, "clinical finishing and an even more important clean sheet was a pleasing factor from a coaching perspective". A special mention to Jack Driscoll who scored a first half hatrick and ended up with four goals for the game. The boys are looking forward to getting back to Pluim this week for round 5.
Goal scorers- Jack Driscoll x4, Peter Stewart x2, Charlie Buffon

20s: 5-0 win

Our 20's boys were the next to take the pitch, and they continued the form set by our 18s. The players picked up where they left off from last week's game against Western Condors, and put on another dominant performance. Technical Director Dean Heffernan described the game as, " a disciplined performance defensively but also a great opportunity to play some nice football on a great pitch. You can see the confidence is building in the playing group which is great to see." The 20's will be hoping to continue this form into next week's clash against the Hurstville City Minotaurs.
Goal scorers- Jayden Jackson, Connor Hambrook, Tyson Cosgrove, Bayley Appo, Kyle Price

1st grade  at Central Coast Stadium: 5-0 win

An auspicious occasion with Central Coast United being invited to play before the Mariners at Central Coast Stadium on Saturday night. Playing on a such a quality field allowed the 1st Grade team to play their natural attacking style and the nerves were settled early with a low finish from Alex Arbelo in the 5th minute. A fine half volleyed strike doubled both his and the teams tally for a deserved half time 2-0 lead.

Coach Stu Davis said, "it was very satisfying seeing the boys drive on for more goals in the second half", as Scott McGinley scored in the 62nd minute, heading in an Ian McAndrew free kick. Whilst Josh Swadling continued his fine goal scoring form, netting an individual goal on a counter attack in the 67th.  Alex Arbelo managed to secure his hat trick late on after good work from substitutes Tait Johnson and Oscar Torres on a night he will never forget.

All in all it was a great team performance, clean sheet and memories to cherish. A special thanks to all the CCU juniors and supporters that made the experience an unforgettable one for the club! See some awesome shots from Saturday night's game below, or jump onto our Facebook for more.
