Easter Weekend Wrap Up

Seniors VS Nepean FC
Saturday 31st March

18s: Nepean 2 - 3 CCU
20s: Nepean 4 - o CCU
1st Grade: Nepean 1 - 1 CCU

Saturday night saw our Senior teams take 0n Nepean FC in their first game away from home for the season. Playing at Cook Park, St Mary's, our 18s were the first team to take the field. They showed a lot of skill against a strong side and managed to come away with a 3-2 win. Our 20s weren't quite as lucky as our 18s and struggled against a dominant Nepean side, coming away with a 4-0 loss.

For the 1st grade, Woodbine opened the scoring in the 4th minute, Woodbine had the chance to double the lead from the penalty spot in the 38th minute, but was denied by a great from the Nepean custodian. Nepean equalised just after half time and the game finished 1-1. About the 1st grade performance on the night, Captain Daniel McFarlane said, "it was a disappointing result after a brilliant first 45 minutes, but Nepean got back into it in the second half and we just didn't take our chances to win the game. We're looking forward to Tuesday night's FFA Cup game against Sydney Uni and hopefully continuing our good form".

AYL Teams VS Football South Coast
Sunday 1st April

U13s: Football South Coast 1 - 1 CCU
U14s: Football South Coast 0 - 3 CCU
U15s: Football South Coast 2 - 3 CCU
U16s: Football South Coast 3 - 0 CCU

It was a day of mixed results for our AYL teams, coming away with 2 wins, a loss and a draw. Taking on a strong opposition in the form of Football South Coast, our 13s kicked off the day with a dogged 1-1 draw. Our 14s followed with a dominant performance which saw them come away with 3 points and a  3-0 win. Our 15s came away with a hard fought 3-2 win, whilst our 16s struggled against a clinical opponent and went down 3-0. All in all, a good performance across the board for our juniors, who will use these games as experience and come out strong against Gladesville Hornsby FA this weekend.
