CENTRAL COAST UNITED U9 TO U12 JUNIOR DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE PROGRAM – SEASON 2027
Central Coast United’s U9 to U12 Junior Development League program provides committed young players with a structured, high-quality development environment based here on the Central Coast.
Our teams compete in the Northern NSW Football Boys’ Junior Development Leagues, with the program forming part of Football Australia’s recognised player pathway.
This is not simply registration for a weekend football team. It is a complete 40-week development program built around qualified coaching, regular training, representative competition and the long-term development of every player.
A GOLD-STATUS JDL PROGRAM
Central Coast United’s Boys’ JDL program has achieved Gold status under Northern NSW Football’s three-tiered merit-based framework, the highest classification available.
Northern NSW Football describes its Gold criteria as representing national best practice, covering areas including coaching standards, player development and retention, program length, facilities, player feedback and child protection.
This recognition gives families confidence that CCU is providing a high-quality and carefully structured development environment for players across the U9 to U12 age groups.
A CENTRAL COAST CLUB WITH A GENUINE PATHWAY
Central Coast United is proudly based on the Central Coast, and 2027 will mark our tenth year as a club. During our ninth year, we began seeing players who first joined CCU in these junior age groups break through into our First Grade team.
Our 2026 First Grade playing group had an average age of 20, every player lived on the Central Coast, 88% played their junior football locally and 77% had been part of CCU at some point in their development.
Former CCU player Jesse Mantell made his A-League debut for the Central Coast Mariners at just 18 during the 2025/26 season and has since signed his first scholarship contract for the 2026/27 season. Fellow former CCU player Shumba Mutokoyi has also signed his first scholarship contract with the Mariners for the 2026/27 season.
These achievements, together with the young local players now progressing into our own First Grade team, are why we do this. We are passionate about giving Central Coast players and their families a genuine pathway, whether that means representing CCU in First Grade at one of the highest levels outside the A-League or earning an opportunity within the professional game.

WHO IS THE PROGRAM FOR?
The program is available across the following 2027 age groups:
U9 Boys: Born 2018 or 2019
U10 Boys: Born 2017
U11 Boys: Born 2016
U12 Boys: Born 2015
Players born in 2019, who would otherwise be eligible for U8s, are welcome to trial for a place in our U9 teams. CCU has selected a number of U8 players to join the U9 program in previous seasons.
All players must have a Central Coast residential address.

The exact training schedule, match schedule and venue information will be confirmed with selected families before the program begins.
HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS
The program begins with a pre-Christmas development period that includes weekly training at Soccer5s and Friday-night matches in the Soccer5s Junior Summer Leagues.
Following the Christmas break, players return to training before moving into the main JDL season.
During the main competitive period, players complete two 90-minute training sessions each week. One session is held at Soccer5s and one at Maidens Brush Oval.
Players will also participate in pre-season matches before beginning their Northern NSW Football Junior Development League season.
There is no scheduled training during the school holidays.
COACHING AND PLAYER DEVELOPMENT
The program is overseen by a Technical Director with Football Australia accreditation and delivered by qualified coaches.
Training follows a structured club curriculum aligned with Football Australia’s player-development principles. The focus is on building technically capable, intelligent and confident players who can continue progressing through the CCU pathway.
The consistency of the 40-week program allows coaches to work with players over an extended period rather than through isolated sessions or short-term programs.
COMPETITIONS
Players will participate in the Northern NSW Football Boys’ Junior Development Leagues across the main winter season.
The program also includes the Soccer5s Junior Summer Leagues, providing players with additional match experience in a fast-paced environment before the JDL season begins.
CCU also plans to arrange approximately two or three pre-season matches before the commencement of the main competition.
APPAREL INCLUDED
Every selected player receives a complete CCU apparel package as part of the core program fee.
The package includes two playing jerseys, one training jersey, two pairs of shorts, two pairs of socks, one training jacket, one pair of training pants and one backpack.
There is no separate charge for this apparel package.
COMMUNICATION AND PROGRAM SUPPORT
Families will receive access to Team App, which is used for training information, match details, team communication and important program updates.
An orientation night will be held before the main JDL season to explain the program, expectations, communication processes and season ahead.
OUR COMMITMENT TO FAMILIES
CCU is committed to operating responsibly and sustainably while returning as much genuine value as possible to our families.
We want families to understand exactly what they are paying for and to see their fees reflected in the quality, breadth and consistency of the program.
Every part of the program is designed with that principle in mind: strong coaching, meaningful training time, quality facilities, representative competition, a complete apparel package and a genuine local pathway.
Our aim is for families to look back on the season and feel that the development, support and opportunities their child received represented outstanding value.
UNDERSTANDING THE PROGRAM FEE
We understand that $2,500 is a significant commitment for any family, which is why we want to be completely transparent about the cost and what it provides.
The complete 2027 core JDL program fee is $2,500.
Across an approximately 40-week program, this is equivalent to: $62.50 per week
During the main season, a standard week includes two 90-minute coached training sessions as well as match-day competition.
The core fee also contributes towards the Soccer5s Summer Leagues, Northern NSW Football competition participation, qualified coaching, technical leadership, training facilities, pre-season matches, the complete apparel package and Team App communication.
A payment plan will be available so families can spread the cost rather than paying the complete fee upfront.
COMPARING THE PROGRAM FAIRLY
When comparing the CCU fee with another club, academy or football program, it is important to compare the complete offering rather than registration prices alone.
Families should consider the length of the program, the number and duration of weekly training sessions, coaching qualifications, competition matches, summer football, training facilities, apparel and the level of technical support included.
The $2,500 fee covers the complete core JDL program, including the standard two 90-minute main-season training sessions each week, Soccer5s Summer Leagues, Northern NSW Football competition participation and the complete apparel package.
The separate Monday Technical Program is not included in the core JDL fee. It is an entirely optional program providing 24 additional small-group training sessions for $750.
CCU also provides this development environment locally on the Central Coast. Regular training at Soccer5s and Maidens Brush reduces the time, fuel and repeated travel that would be required to access a similar program outside the region.
Away travel will still form part of the Northern NSW Football competition schedule.
OPTIONAL MONDAY TECHNICAL PROGRAM
Selected players can add a further 24 weeks of focused technical development to their JDL program.
Sessions run for one hour at Soccer5s and are delivered in small groups capped at six players.
The program focuses on ball mastery, speed, agility and quickness, ball striking and core technical skills.
The additional cost is $750 for the complete 24-week program. This is equivalent to $31.25 for each one-hour small-group session.
This program is completely optional. Players do not need to enrol in it to receive the complete CCU JDL experience.
Families choosing both the core JDL program and the optional Monday Technical Program would pay a total of $3,250.
Current Central Coast United players should not register unless they have been contacted directly by the club and instructed to do so. The club will communicate separately with current players regarding their next steps for 2027.
